1. Wijd je leven aan één zaak: “Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul can be a true master. For this reason mastery demands all of a person.”
 2. Ga ervan uit dat je veel tegenstand zult ondervinden: “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
 3. Beslis dat de wereld vriendelijk is: “The most important decision we ever make is whether we believe we live in a friendly universe or a hostile universe.”
 4. Karakter belangrijker dan Intelligentie: “Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.”
5. Hou nooit op met leren: “Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.” (eigenlijk: Groei Moet voor de (ex)OFC-ers)
 6. Verander hoe je denkt: “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
 7. Stel je dienstbaar op: "The high destiny of the individual is to serve rather than to rule. The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.”

Iedereen denkt dat Albert Einstein de man is van kernenergie, maar de Nobelprijs kreeg hij voor zijn vinding hoe je uit zonlicht electriciteit kunt opwekken!

Hier 10 mooie lessen van deze bijzondere geest:

Volg je nieuwsgierigheid: “I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”
Ben vasthoudend: “It's not that I'm so smart; it's just that I stay with problems longer.”

Focus op één ding: “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”
De kracht van de verbeelding: “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
Maak fouten: “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
Leef in het hier & nu: “I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.”
Creeer waarde: “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."
Verwacht geen andere uitkomsten als je altijd hetzelfde doet: “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Kennis komt vanuit ervaring: “Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience.”
Leer de spelregels en ga dan beter spelen: “You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”

Waar zijn de bijen?

Einstein van school getrapt!

In zijn nieuwe boek verhaalt Walter Isaacson over Albert Einstein, Einstein: His Life and Universe:

"His slow development was combined with a cheeky rebelliousness toward authority, which led one schoolmaster to send him packing and another to declare that he would never amount to much."


Drie keer hoera voor de rebellen onder ons; weg met conformisme! Is het niet zo dat iedereen die in de geschiedenisboeken staat een rebel was? Heeft u ooit gelezen over een historisch belangwekkend figuur die kwam bovendrijven door als een kameleon op te gaan in de meute?
